About Me
I'm Alex Tan, and I've been in the wedding industry in Singapore for over 10 years. I've had the honour of sharing the treasured moments of many a couple on their biggest day - usually as a wedding host, but always as a friend who goes the extra mile to ensure the smoothest wedding experience for the bride and the groom.

As The Wedding Guru, I'm taking my commitment to every couple and you further. I'd love to be your dedicated wedding planner. But I'm not alone in this. Over the last decade, I've come to work with a trusted network of vendors and venues. Together, we'll help plan your wedding the way you want it to be.

That's my promise to you.

My promise to you as your wedding planner
By and large, wedding planners in Singapore offer three types of wedding planning packages, namely full wedding planning, partial wedding planning and actual day coordination. But these packages don't account for the unique requirements of each couple or wedding, so you end up straddling between overpaying for a premium package with line items you may not need or want and underpaying for a basic package that doesn't offer enough help.
As The Wedding Guru, I want to make wedding planning for you hassle-free again. That's why I only have a flat price.

FAQs
Why do I need to hire a wedding planner in Singapore?
How do I choose the right wedding planner in Singapore?
Your wedding is one of your life's biggest milestones. As you might expect, planning it requires more effort and time than you may be able to afford, especially if you and your fiancé or fiancée lead busy lives. At the very least, you stand to benefit from your wedding planner's knowledge of the wedding industry and expertise in planning and managing your wedding. This way, you'll get to enjoy the wedding you've always dreamt of without the stress and fuss of planning it.
The experience of your wedding planner is important. Having been in the wedding industry for over 10 years, I've had the opportunity to talk to hundreds of couples and understand their challenges and expectations.

At the same time, I've worked with multiple vendors and venues. But I find myself returning to the same handful of vendors and venues that I trust and personally vouch for. When you engage me as your wedding planner, you'll get to know this group of vendors and venues, each delivering the reliable service and results so that you can have peace of mind.

Above all, it's key to look for a wedding planner who will be wholeheartedly committed to your wedding. As The Wedding Guru, I lead your wedding planning as opposed to 'outsourcing', so you get the same level of knowledge, experience, expertise and commitment - and consistency in communication - from the start to the end.
What is the difference between a wedding planner and a wedding coordinator?
Both wedding planner and wedding coordinator are terms that are used rather interchangeably. The truth is that a wedding planner also fulfils the role of a wedding coordinator, but not vice versa.

As the title suggests, a wedding planner takes charge of the whole process of planning your wedding, including conceptualising the theme of your wedding, budget planning and management, recommending vendors and venues, and helping with guest management during your wedding.

On the other hand, a wedding coordinator is focused on your wedding day. His or her responsibilities typically include managing the vendors that you have selected, being the bridge between you and the venue, ensuring the activities that you've planned are executed on cue, and tackling any issue that may arise.
Where do I find your list of vendors and venues?
I don't list my vendors and venues because The Wedding Guru is not a portal offering listing services. Instead, I work with vendors and venues I personally know and believe in. This way, all my recommendations can be sincere, not sponsored.
How early should I start planning for my wedding?
How much does it cost to hire a wedding planner in Singapore?
The cost of hiring a wedding planner in Singapore can vary depending on the scale and requirements of your wedding. For example, if you're looking for someone to help with only actual day coordination, it might cost you $1,200++ - $4,800++. On the other hand, if you're looking for someone to plan your wedding from the start to the end - including conceptualising the theme of your wedding, designing your wedding day programme and sourcing for the ideal vendors and venue - you could pay a five-figure sum.

As The Wedding Guru, I charge a flat price of $1,688 nett, no matter the amount of help you need with your wedding planning. This cost covers your actual day coordination and management, in addition to (optional) partial wedding planning or full wedding planning.

To engage me as your wedding planner, be sure to share your wedding details with me.
It depends on the scale of your wedding and your requirements. If you're looking for full wedding planning, a rule of thumb would be to engage me 12 months before your wedding. This is because vendors and venues need to be booked early to avoid disappointment.

If you've secured your vendors and venue, and need only some help with your wedding planning, then a lead time of 6 months may suffice. Likewise, if you're looking for only actual day coordination and management, be sure to let me know 4-8 weeks in advance.

Not sure how much help you need? Start by sharing your wedding details with me, and I'll help you plan the perfect wedding.
What is my consultation with a wedding planner like?
During your consultation with me, we'll typically discuss your vision for your wedding, your expectations and what you want or need help with. As I'll be with you throughout your whole wedding planning process, it's important that we're able to communicate well and establish great synergy. Hence, you shouldn't hesitate to ask any question and provide as many details as possible. This way, you'll be able to determine whether I'm your ideal wedding planner.
